Tchaikovsky's soaring, magnificent violin concerto is one of the summits of the literature and one which every aspiring virtuoso needs to learn. Highly recommended, it is truly inspiring music in the great Russian Romantic tradition.

I am not actually a violinist. I'm a violist (and proud of it!). To me the violin can't compare with the viola when it comes to sound. But I love its concerto's (I have nothing against the violin). This violin concerto is amazing if it can be played well. I have it on CD and I listen to it all the time. I highly suggest you buy it. (Posted on 12/1/2012)

The best first movement of all
'Tis my soul tune. I know ya'll be laughing at me, but I think from this piece I started to love Tchaikovksy. Even his piano concerto doesn't produce this much ferver and affection on me. (Posted on 12/1/2012)

I recently saw this concerto performed by James Ehnes with the OSM and it was really good. People stood up to applaud after the first mvt because they liked it so much. If you have the time and talent to learn this it is an absolute must!!! (Posted on 12/1/2012)
